Stop 7: Vernon, TX

No wifi today so I'm posting via 4G. Fortunately, I don't have any pictures to post (the part of the country that we're passing through just doesn' cry out for pictures).

We had some pretty impressive weather last night. Lightning,  thunder, heavy rain and 50 mph winds with gusts to 70 mpg. We didn't dare go out once it started so we were expecting to find our doormat and collapsible step gone and our sewer connection trestle laying on its side. As it ended up, the only thing that was out of place was a chock block that had blown under the trailer.

This morning we got underway with some pretty heavy winds. Before long, they calmed and gave way to fog. Eventually, the sun came out and the wind returned.

The same storm that hit Amarillo also hit Vernon and is their explanation as to why the wifi is out. Apparently,  we're expecting more of the same weather tonight. OH BOY!

This is a nice enough park. We're sitting ouside the trailer watching the train and freeway traffic across a huge wheat field. No airport today.
